Wang Mingyi, Senior consultant of School of Materials Science and Engineering in Donghua University, presented his report of Technologies and Prospects for Sustainable Development of China's Packaging Polyester Industry Chain 
 

Prof. Wang firstly gave a brief introduction into sustainable development of China¨s packaging polyester industry chain. The technology includes bio-based polyester raw materials, technology of polyester synthesis, processing & application of new technologies, recycling & biodegradable. 

1. Bio-based polyester raw materials. The core of technology is to find efficient and accurate bacteria. Most bio-based materials can be used in existing polyester plants. 2. New technology of polyester synthesis. There are highlights of PET synthesis technology like design modularization, greatly reducing investment and consumption, on-line recycling like Rotoform and CC-PET, etc. 3. Processing & application of new technologies like compression blowforming (CBF) technology, multilayer bidirectional tensile film technology and high shrinkage film technology. 4. Recycling & biodegradable like physical recovery and regeneration technology of polyester bottles and recycling and regeneration - increasing IV, etc. 

Finally, Prof. Wang forecasted the future of polyester packaging industry Chain. Development will center on sustainable development of polyester packaging industry chain. Application Trends will continue to expand application areas. The competitive advantage of polyester packaging further improves ad PET will probably replace other packaging materials.
